"FourSquared" at Arc Gallery
"FourSquared is a unique exploration of the works of sixteen Bay Area artists. Each of the artists has produced sixteen small works, presented in sixteen clusters giving the audience the experience of sixteen micro solo exhibitions.
I made 16 small gouache paintings of legendary and mythical creatures from around the world. Some creatures are well known, such as Cerberus, the three headed hell dog, but others are less known, such as the Ningyo (Japan's version of the mermaid) Before humans had the advantage of scientific knowledge to explain observations of animals in the wild, our ancestors developed myths and folklore to explain the fleeting glimpses of scary beasts in the unexplored wildlands.
Each painting is matted and framed. Works can be previewed in the online catalog (updated to show works that are sold versus available. ) You can also arrange a private showing by contacting the gallery.
